 astor, Brent Darrell Waldon Sr.,
was born in Sumter, South Carolina to the late Herald and
Wilhelmenia Waldon Sr. His mother joined the SDA church during the
mid 60's. It was then that she and her children became active
members. His father later joined the church and became a very
spiritual and dedicated deacon and later First Elder.
Following the leading of the Holy Spirit, our Pastor enrolled in
Oakwood College to prepare for the Ministry. While at Oakwood, he
met and married the former Jacqueline Matthews from Hammond,
Louisiana. To this union came four children, Kawaisha LaRose and
Kalisha Addrianna (twins), Kristy Marie, Brent Jr., and his
beautiful granddaughter, KeAndria LaRose.
Kalisha graduated Summa Cum Laude from Oakwood in 2002 with the 3rd
highest GPA. She is now employed by Southeastern Conference as an
elementary school teacher. Kawaisha is a 2003 nursing major graduate
of Oakwood College and a Licensed Cosmetologist. Kristy is a 2003
graduate of St. Petersburg College. Her major is Mortuary Science.
Brent Jr. has just completed his second year of nursing at Oakwood
College. KeAndria is three years old, and is enrolled in Mt. Sinai’s
Child Developmental Center.

Our Pastor’s wife, Jacqueline, also graduated from Oakwood College
with a Bachelor of Arts Degree/Music, and later pursued the field of
nursing. Presently she works part-time as a critical care nurse, and
volunteers at Mt. Sinai Jr. Academy as the choir director. She is
our Pastor’s energetic partner in ministry and is actively involved
in the leadership of many church and church school programs. Pastor
and Sis Waldon love and support all the youth in the church, and are
dedicated workers for Christian education.
Our Pastor was sent by God to pastor Mt. Sinai in January 2000. He
has pastored a total of 9 churches in Southeastern Conference since
1982. The Lord has used him to bring many souls to the watery grave
of baptism. He also serves on several conference committees, and is
willing to have the Spirit of God lead and guide him in anyway
deemed necessary. His leadership has been a blessing to the members
of Mt. Sinai.

Last, but not least, our Pastor is a man of integrity, a spiritual
leader, a man of God and a faithful shepherd of God’s people. He is
one who truly lives up to the command, “To whom much is given, much
is required.”
